The Short Version

VDO Download collects only what's needed to run the service. We don't track you across the web, we don't run analytics, and we don't sell data. Your downloaded video files are processed in real-time and immediately deleted.

What We Collect

When you create an account, we store:

• Account information — email address, name, and profile image (from Google if you sign in with Google). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
• Credit balance — your remaining download credits and transaction history
• Requested URLs — the video URLs submitted for extraction and download
• Basic request metadata — IP address and browser user agent, used only for abuse prevention

What We Don't Collect

• No tracking — no analytics pixels, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking
• No cookies or tracking — no analytics, no pixels, no fingerprinting
• No file storage — downloaded files exist in memory during transfer only and are deleted immediately after

How Downloads Work

When you request a download, VDO Download fetches the video from the source, processes it on our server, and streams it directly to your browser. The file exists in temporary server memory only during the active transfer. Once the download completes (or is cancelled), the temporary file is deleted. No copies are retained.

Infrastructure

VDO Download runs on Railway, a cloud platform. All connections use HTTPS encryption. Our server does not maintain persistent storage — it uses temporary filesystem space that is cleared on each deployment and between requests.

Fair Use

VDO Download is intended for downloading videos for personal, offline viewing. We do not host, store, index, or distribute any video content. Users are responsible for respecting copyright law and the terms of service of the platforms they download from. Do not use this tool to redistribute copyrighted material without permission.

Third-Party Services

VDO Download does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external connections made are to the video source servers when you request a download.

Changes

If this policy changes, it will be updated on this page. Given our zero-collection approach, significant changes are unlikely.
